Creative Space - click, click, click

I needed to yet again claim Max's basket to cart around my latest crafting effort, knitting. I've really been enjoying the repetitive nature and calming aspect of knitting. I still struggle with following the patterns (or rather understanding the lingo of patterns....surely no-one knits so quickly that they need to be so brief!). At least I'm finally getting to use the needles I got from my Nanna last year.
This vest I started for Max is actually starting to look like the picture (I'm quite surprised). I think the harder parts of this pattern are still to come though.....I'll know in the next few days. Knitting and breast feeding seem to go well together if you have a feeding support pillow.

More creative spaces over this way.

I used to knit while feeding my baby too! :)

It looks like you're doing great. Part of what I love about knitting is how you can just trust the pattern, lose yourself in the rhythm, amd suddenly you have an entire knitted fabric!

Still trying to get my head around knitting and feeding simultaneously. I love the yarn you're using.

I agree with the whole "reading a pattern" dilemma. Sometimes I would have a better chance of reading fluent italian!

Your knit looks divine and I've always been partial to a craft-laden basket! ;) It looks fabulous... wish I'd been into these things when I was breastfeeding - much better than hours in front of the TV! Thanks for this :) K

Seems you are also knitting lots of memories into this vest.... your new craft, surviving the pattern, using Nanna's needles and feeding your baby.

I have reached the hard part on my daughter vest. In fact, I reached it a couple of months ago and have been stuck ever since. I need lots of time to sit there and work it out. I also need to not be so mathematical about it, otherwise it will never get finished. Have you got someone who can help you through it?!
Also, love the breast feeding cushion for knitting with. I used to do everything with mine, eat dinner, read a book.. oh, that was about everything I did as a breastfeeding mother!

I know EXACTLY what you are up to! Mainly because last year I knit the same vest (with hood) in the same Zoomy green wool for my boy!

Your knitting is looking great! I used to knit while feeding both of my boys when they were babies too!

I think that I fell in love with knitting because of the rhythmic nature of it. We have a saying in our house: A knitting mommy is a happy mommy. (And it's true!)

Hi Angie, I wanted to reply to your comment but can't find your email address. If it's OK, would you mind emailing me so I can reply to you... Thanks, Nikki

Looking great so far. Knitting is on my list of crafts to try too. It's a long list.

I laughed when I read that about knitting and breast feeding, as I tried crocheting and breast feeding yesterday and wondered why I hadn't done it sooner. Cohen used to just feed, now (8 months) while he is feeding he is pulling my hair, scratching me, biting me and popping off to see what I am doing! Make the most of this knitting time now incase your bub decides to do the same... :)
